Because it operates inside the hosting environment itself, it fits naturally into the Hepsia Control Panel. Rather than simply asking an AI model for advice on a change, you get an agent that can actively assist with the project.
Coding, however, is where its focus ends. For broader tasks and day-to-day help, OpenClaw takes over.
OpenClaw: A Personal AI Assistant You Configure Yourself
OpenClaw is a far more flexible agent. You set it up around your own requirements rather than a single predefined purpose.
Unlike the AI Coding Agent, it isn’t tied to one specialty. You can assign it a wide range of tasks, specify exactly how you want them carried out, and redefine its role whenever your needs change.
Use it as a personal assistant, a research aid, a monitoring tool, or an automation engine for recurring work and workflows. For instance, you could have it deliver weather forecasts, compile news summaries, track specific information, process data, or handle routine tasks on autopilot.
So where the AI Coding Agent is the specialist, OpenClaw is the generalist. One is built for creating and maintaining websites and applications; the other gives you the freedom to design AI-driven workflows around your own priorities. That’s precisely why both earn their place in the Hepsia Control Panel.
What Makes AI Agents on Shared Hosting So Notable?
This is where things get interesting.
AI agents like OpenClaw and dedicated coding agents are usually linked to VPS servers, dedicated environments, or specialized cloud platforms. For a typical shared hosting customer, that has traditionally meant upgrading to a VPS or paying for a separate service just to access an AI agent.

Both the AI Coding Agent and OpenClaw are also available with Semi-Dedicated, KVM VPS, and Dedicated Server plans running the Hepsia Control Panel.
The AI Coding Agent project quotas are:

How Does the AI Coding Agent Work?
The AI Coding Agent currently depends on third-party LLMs for its underlying AI capabilities. Customers therefore need to connect their own ChatGPT or Claude subscription before using it.
Once connected, the AI Coding Agent sits between the customer and the LLM. Instead of sending a standard prompt straight to ChatGPT or Claude, the request passes through the AI Coding Agent and its specialized coding instructions.
This extra layer helps the LLM better understand the development task, interact with the hosting environment, and generate results tuned for coding-related requests. It can also accomplish these tasks with lower token usage, making each interaction more efficient.
In short: the customer supplies the AI model, and the AI Coding Agent provides the specialized development environment and instructions that turn it into a hosting-focused coding assistant.
How Does OpenClaw Work?
OpenClaw operates on a similar principle but offers far more freedom in how the AI is used.
Customers connect their own ChatGPT or Claude subscription, and OpenClaw serves as the agent layer between the user, the LLM, and the workflows they want to build. Rather than restricting interaction to the provider’s official website or app, OpenClaw lets customers craft their own way of working with the LLM.
They can define instructions, create automated workflows, connect different tasks, and configure the agent around their specific needs. A basic OpenClaw setup might deliver a daily weather forecast or news summary. A more advanced one could pull information from another service, process it with an LLM, and automatically generate recurring reports.
We use OpenClaw ourselves, in fact. Our setup automatically downloads and processes data from our analytics suite and delivers regular website performance summaries to members of our SEO and executive teams. It’s a solid example of what makes a general-purpose AI agent valuable: instead of asking an AI the same questions over and over, you build the task into a workflow and let the agent handle it for you.
What About Other AI Models?
ChatGPT and Claude are just the starting point. We’re currently developing alternative solutions that will let customers use these AI tools without relying entirely on a third-party provider.
